Core collision avoidance functionality had priority over the flight

recording.

Now that the users are happy with the first, we can move on to the

'fringe benefits' of PowerFLARM.

ETA for IGC format recording is Q3/2012, that version will then be

submitted to IGC for approval which we hope to receive before the

start of the Northern Hemisphere season 2013.

Updates (for North American customers) will be free and possible

through USB stick / SD card or via IGC type serial cable.

As it's about a month before my glider is put into winter storage, I'd

like to be able to get an igc file to run through the range assessment

software, to see if I have to work on my installation. I'd prefer not

to wait until spring... since you have to fly with other gliders in

order to see if your installation works. I'd prefer to know my

installation is either good or bad, sooner rather than later - I can

play with the installation before storage if it is poor. I can dance

the "anti-collision dance of joy" if I can change my temp installation

into a permanent one.

I understand that the IGC blessing of the files will take time - this

is just for the RF Range Analysis aspects.

A long preamble for a short question - can we expect our PF's (mine is

a Brick/core) to be able to produce IGC files in the next month?

We certainly shouldn't need to wait for IGC approval to be able to download IGC files. Not only for range analysis, but for personal analysis, OLC etc. Only a small fraction of flights are record/badge/contest flights which require IGC approval.
