After you get your add-on rating, it might make sense to take a proper check ride with your local CFI-G at the local field and continue to take periodic training flights with CFI-G under varying conditions. As a low hours pilot I find that it is rather easy for bad habits to creep in, and periodic training flights with an excellent CFI-G have helped me eliminate several bad habits before they took root.
