I am interested in hearing about your club’s experiences and links to the products that your club has created using social media to interact with the public and/or club members.
Social media and internet presence for Soaring Club of Houston (SCOH):
SCOH Facebook Group
Purpose: A place to share all things related to gliding and the Soaring Club of Houston. Group members (108 at time of this posting) include SCOH members, former SCOH members, outside soaring and aviation enthusiasts. Anyone with a Facebook account can see the group, who’s in it and what members post. You are welcome to ask to join the group if you want to follow our activities.

SCOH Google+ Page
Purpose: Same as the SCOH Facebook Group above with a few exceptions: 1) Anybody in the public can view the content, no account required. 2) There are no group members. 3) The page can be found during generic glider searches on Google. It is my understanding that Google gives a little higher search rankings to Google+ content. 4) The main goal is to drive people to the club’s website, scoh.org.

If you like it, please +1 it!
SCOH Public Website
Purpose: The purpose of scoh.org is to first promote soaring and second to promote SCOH. The information on the public website is more static while the social media above is intended to provide news and current events at SCOH.

We use Google sites to host this website. Members that wish to gain access need to have a Google account. See the following link to understand how we handle registration:
