I know the correct way to gap a plug is to use a plug vice. I don't
have easy access to one. Short of using a bench vice, hammer, and
drift, is there a less brutal way to adjust the gap? - Mike

In my toolbox I have a little collar that threads onto the plug with two
thumb screws sticking out the sides. You just thread it onto the plug

just
the right amount and the thumbscrews can push the ground electrodes

toward
the center pin reducing the gap.

Of course, you have to be careful not to push them too far and set the

gap
too small. AFAIK, there is no safe way to increase the gap once it is

too
small.

Bill - that's what the vice does; only it clamps on the table; I'lm
trying to duplicate what you're doing - Mike
