Thankfully, Malaysia is a very tolerant country so I encountered no
problems while taking photos at the airport. Clearly, other countries
have a different attitude. I seem to recall a British anorak
plane-spotter was arrested fairly recently in Greece, for example.
Many
years ago I was in Entebbe and saw a large notice at the airport
forbidding photography of military aircraft. The only military
aircraft
in sight were a couple of decrepit Dakotas. I did wonder what possible
significance could be attached to them, but dutifully obeyed the
injunction.
Good thing they weren't watching me with my load of camera gear too
closely at AMS.
