Singapore F-16 crashes in Arizona THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

(EXCERPT) SELLS, Ariz. -- An F-16C fighter jet belonging to the
Singapore Air Force crashed in southern Arizona during a training
flight and the pilot was unaccounted for, officials said Thursday.

It was not immediately known if the Singaporean pilot was able to
eject or was in the wreckage, said Lt. Kevin Tuttle, a spokesman at
Luke Air Force Base, a training center for F-16 pilots.

A search and rescue operation was being conducted Thursday for the
pilot, the base said.

The crash happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday south of the Barry M.
Goldwater Range near Sells, not far from the U.S.-Mexico border.
