So, where do I find this license file?* It's not on my thumb drive

it off the CNv or do I have to wait until Monday and ask Gary to
send me a copy?

I have the update and the current versions in sub-folders on my
thumb drive and I moved copies of the appropriate update files to
the root.* Guess I'll delete the copies from the root and fly with
the old firmware today.* Bummer...

So, from reading the instructions, I need to get an updated license file

Your existing XC license is valid with 3.0, but (iirc) you will need the license available on your USB drive to enable XC feature set after the update.

Hi

I inserted the usb key in the vario, it deleted vs 2...
Vario display show vs 0.00...
I turn the vario off and on again
about 4-5 minutes later I had vs 3...

So everything works now?

Our bootloader / updater is pretty robust and I have yet to hear of anyone "bricking" a CNv. The updater *can* hang in the update process (this is rare). I think we've had one instance where an update with two connected diplays failed to finish and both displays were blank. In this case, the best way to resolve the problem is to connect only one display, re-run the update. When the update finishes, connect the second display and run the update again.

PS: I think the rest of the r.a.s community would prefer we do customer support on our own board. http://clearnav.net/simplemachinesforum/
