Has anybody had involvement with the removal of ASW27a Water Ballast
Bags? In particular is it possible to disconnect the bag from the wing
dump
valve by means of the inner large knurled bag connector rather than
dismantling the valve from the wing itself.
should be easy to remove. The water bag is connected to the wing water
inlet by means of a Gardena-type connection. Reach into the wing and
twist (or pull), the actuator for the connection should be on the water
bag side of the connection.

You are right, the ASW 27 is indeed different:
Take off the lid fromm the root rib and pull out the rod from the valve.
Untie the string for the water bag on the root rib, and fasten the end
of the string again, so that it cannot slip into the wing.
On the water outlet (underside if the wing) unscrew the screw with a
caliper 2 pin spanner with 3mm pins (e.g. Gedore No. 44/7").
Now you can pull the water bags carefully out of the wing. Take care not
to damage the tube within the water bag, about 2.5m long. It works best
when you place a long bench in front of the wing (before the root rib),
where you can place the water bag on.
