Ron Schwartz got off tow a little before 7 a.m. after a launch from Blairstown. He has a declared 1000K 3 turnpoint in the box. While the synoptic picture isn't classic, it seems to be working. Local winds picked up shortly after sunrise and reporting stations along the route are currently starting to swing around to the northwest. Karl Striedieck reports solid winds at Eagle Field, which is about the midpoint of the task area. Ron buys some time by getting his first lap in on the local ridge before heading south across the Susquehanna and Potomac rivers later in the day.
