There are several web sites I use for hi-res GOES-16 imagery. University of Wisconsin SSEC - RealEarth. Search rec.aviation.soaring for "GOES-16" to see my previous post.
Now that GOES-16 is the GOES East operational satellite, those of us on the West Coast will see degraded hi-res visible imagery from the optimum 0.5 km... but it still looks pretty good with better dynamic range from bright mid day to near sunrise/sunset. The satellite was moved to approx 78W over the equator.
