IIRC he did some tests with the Swiss P16 STOL attack/fighter and the
Learjet owes quite a bit to it mainly in the wing.

Lear Radio and Learjet guy) starred in a low-budgeter just postwar
about a typical Los Angeles teenager who just happened to own a P-38.
Of course, he _was_ a typical Los Angeles teenager who happened to own
a P-38. When he entered UPT in the early 1950s, he had over 1,000 Hrs
of P-38 time. (He flew plank-wing F-84s in Germany. I think he was
with the 36th Fighter-Bomber Wing.)
