I would have to know more about these negative reports. While I've
studied enough combat reports to know that a majority are mistaken,
Russian records are famously hard to get at. Is this the considered
conclusion of a qualified researcher working in the Russian archives
within the past ten years?
Unlike Japan and Germany, Russia was not occupied by foreign forces
and its archives opened to the world. Especially when working with
negatives ("no losses were reported"), I would be very skeptical of
statements about an incident taking place half a century before.
