That reminds me of being able to buy gas at our local Hess station for
19.9 cents/gal
If that was in 1949, it'd be $2.11 in today's money, a little more than the
$1.84 the 7-11 up the street is currently charging.
Remember the "gas wars" of yesteryear, when stations would be giving away
free goodies for buying their gas?
