Yup! Robert Mason's "Chickenhawk"



Good guy, sadly "damaged" by the
war as were so many vets. Divorce,
jobless, arrested for smuggling drugs
at the Mexico border. Don't even know
if he is still alive.

Yup! After 2 years in a Federal Pen he seems to still be alive. Now 77. He
wrote a follow up "Chickenhawk: Back in the World" and at least two novels.
