Gulfstream did this little piece of online marketing yesterday.

What does it cost to operate a Gulfstream V for 8 hours 27 minutes?

Unlike media advertising, this has a rather limited audience, and is
considerably more ephemeral than print media.

This was most likely a test flight (say, a functional check after finishing an airplane,
to make sure everything works in flight and all that), and they just decided to map out an
interesting flight path instead of flying figure-eights over the great lakes all day.
I've worked under the flight test group at Gulfstream for a year or so, and they don't
just do stuff like this for fun. They do, however, have test profiles that require 8+
hour flights, and this was one of them.
