Police investigate fatal glider crash - Southern NSW

A report is being prepared for the coroner following a glider crash which resulted in the death of a 64-year-old man in Towrang yesterday.
Emergency services were called to land adjacent to Carrick Road, Towrang, around 2pm following reports that a glider had crashed and two men were severely injured.
Police have been told that the glider, carrying two Queanbeyan men, was launched into the air with the assistance of a winch.
Moments later witnesses observed the glider bank to the left and crash into the ground.
A number of witnesses went to the aid of the two men, however, the 64 year old suffered significant injuries and died at the scene.
Ambulance officers took a 68-year-old man to Goulburn Base Hospital. He has since been transferred to Canberra Hospital suffering serious leg injuries.
Police from Goulburn Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Specialist officers from the Aviation Branch and Crime Scene officers also attended and continue to investigate the incident.
