Not likely. The VH number makes the plane registered
in Australia. Could be Mt Erebus in Antarctica.


No -- it is Australian Ron Johansen (sp?), who landed at McMurdo base,
Antarctica on his trans-Antarctic trip. The National Science Foundation,
who runs the base, got their panties all in a wad over his landing there
and wouldn't let him have fuel. It was only the by the good graces of
Polly Vaicher (sp?), who had stockpiled fuel there and then cancelled
her trip, that Ron got to fly out.


I thought the question was about the mountain in the background.

It sure ain't McKinley........
