Hitting a utility pole seems to fall in the realm of pilot control or

Check the thread "C172 Plane crash Orlando, FL" for links to videos. Engine
failure. Pilot set up for a landing on a road and decided at the last minute to
turn away to the right. The right wing touches the ground and the left descends
onto some power lines. That runs the fuselage right into the pole. Student pilot
survived, CFI killed.
