Larry Chambers, skipper of the Midway at that time and who retired as
a rear admiral, is alive and well and living in Chapel Hill NC. He
talks about turning his back as the helicopters were being pushed
overboard on his order, because he expected to be court martialed for
ordering them into the water and did not want to say he actually saw
them splashed.

When principle and statute clashed he chose principle. Can you say
'role model?"
