Oh yeah, one more comment. I spend a fair amount of time in a corporate

jet
and when I use these headsets in one of them, its so totally silent its
almost spooky.

The H10-56's are good headsets. I've had quite a few and like these the
best.
There are a few squawks though:

* The battery lid cover doesnt stay on very well.

* The micro switch that turns Auto ANR on/off is a total bitch to get

at.

* The belt-clip on the battery box needs work, it wont stay clipped to
anything.

* This headset will go through 9V batteries like crazy. MFR claims 20

hrs,
but
Im not getting more than 10 or 12. When the battery gets low you'll hear
this
pumping-sound as it tries to compensate for main rotor thwopping. Its

pretty
bothersome, but the good news is that these headsets have the best

available
passive attenuation as well. So much so that you dont really need the

ANR
on.

They're also very comfortable. I've worn them on some 12 hour flight

days
and
aside from their weight, theyre more comfy than any other set I've used.

The set comes with a NATO pigtail, and you'll probably want to spring

for
the
general aviation pigtail as well. They charge way too much for the extra
one, but
if you _have_ to_ ride in an airplane or certain "exotic" helos you'll

want
to
have it on hand.

Oh yeah, David Clark's customer service is really really good too.

I wouldn't reccomend the Bose headset at all. Its ANR may be comparable

to
the DC's, but if the battery dies, you'll be SOL cuz the headset is

almost
unusable
with a dead battery in a helicopter.

'nuff of a review?

Going to lash out any buy the Dave Clerk H10-56HXL/XP

headset.....intend
to
use it in a few machines (Hughes, Bell)...is there anything I need to

be
aware of in terms of compatibility - impedance issues, NATO connectors
versus US connectors etc....which may stop me using an expensive

purchase
on
differient machines?
