Default JAR-22 should be accepted as Special Light Sport Aircraft standard

I've been watching the Sport Pilot aircraft certification
scene quite closely now, and as it fleshes out, I have
some observations.

The SLSA standards for airplane, weight shift, etc.
which
are published are hampering the development
of SLSA for these categories due mostly to lack of
familiarity.

I'm more convinced now than ever that a simple
finding that JAR-22 compliant gliders should qualify
as
SLSA would make certification of such gliders
quite smooth.

If any of you pilots or manufacturers out there
have input into this process, you may want to cast
your
support behind making JAR-22 the standard for SLSA,
or at least making it as close as possible. There
are
benefits to this that will have impacts to gliding
for
a LONG time. I will go over the most obvious ones
in a
later post.
