Recommenation:

Buy the EW unit with a SD card reader. So you can leave the EW inside
the cockpit and bring only the SD card at home.

Depends on if you can safely leave it in the glider. You don't have to
disconnect the aerial to take it out, and you do have to recharge it
from time to time.
