chances are you blew out the amplifier in the Mic if you are still sending
carrier
you'd need an amplified dynamic, carbon, or electet mic for the Terra
I don't have mic elements but liklely it's the amp in the mic that let go

So I did something stupid the other week. After installing a new vario and
a few other bits in my Ka-6 panel, i reassembled everything and proceeded
to test the radio. When I keyed the mic on my Terra TX-720 I blew the
readio fuse. Turns out I had mis wired the Mic.Instead of having the mic
hooked up to the power on one end I had inadvertantly wired it to ground.
The radio still receives, and when I transmit I can hear the carrier, but
no audio is broadcast. I haven't had a chance to further troubleshoot the
problem.
First question. Did I only fry the mic, or did I possibly fry something in
the radio?
Second, if it's just the mic I'd like to just get the nic element since I
won't need to eplace the gooseneck. Where can I find an appropriate
(non-dynamic) nic element?
Thanks
Peter
