From what I understand, I had a similar situation to Dick's and wrote
about it in my newsletter.
Before having cataract surgery, I had an EKG at my doctor's office and
failed it. He sent me for a stress test ( treadmill) which I also
failed. They scheduled me for a cathiterization and a possible
insertion of a stent or bypass surgery a week or so after the stress
test.
Chest pains a couple days later caused an quick run to the emergency
room, and the camera-up-the-artery test, which showed I had no
problem. The issue was caused by some medication I was taking.
The lesson, is if they do the tests and perhaps something is wrong,
don't let them put you off for a week. Do the necessary tests and
procedures right away.
