Default Mooney Down

Yesterday in Oregon, No injuries.

WILBUR - A single-engine airplane crash-landed on a ridge top just north of
Roseburg this morning, but all three passengers on board walked away without
injuries.

The 1981 Mooney took off from the Roseburg airport headed for Lewiston,
Idaho, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Once the pilot, 66-year-old Albert G. Satterla of Umpqua, was about five
miles north of Roseburg, the airplane lost oil pressure and the engine quit,
said sheriff's Deputy Ken Zarbano.

"We lost the engine coming out of Roseburg, the oil pressure came to zero,"
said passenger David Van Sickle, 25, of Roseburg. "We had to make an
emergency landing on the side of the hill."

The crash was reported to the county's emergency dispatch center around
10:35 a.m., according to a dispatch operator.
