Hi,

I'm flying whit the air cadet program in Canada and one of the launch
method is whit the winch. The cable that we are using is an 1/8"
shielded steel cable whit 17 wires. I think we use this cable because
it's supplied by the military which support us. Unfortunately, when
the cable starting to get a little used, we have a lot a cable break.
This mean some potential dangerous situations and some time lost.

What other winch cable exist? Winch one are the best, in durability
and cost wise.

Thank you
Mathias Beucher

Check out Spectra. The German test results are showing it outlasting steel.
The first year of use by the German club had no breaks at all. Other
sources suggest it outlasting steel 5:1 or more.

Google "Plasma 12", "Amsteel 12 strand" or "Spectra 12 strand"
