You can start by making a custom airport database at SoaringData.info. Here's how:

1. Go to http://www.soaringdata.info, and select the Airports tab. Follow the link the the airport query page.
2. On line 1 stick in the identifier of your home airport, and select a bounding radius -- how far you might ever expect to fly
3. Type "Soar" on line 5 and hit the submit button.

You will get a CUP file containing current data on all the airports in your bounding circle. You can manually edit that file to add other turnpoints of interest.

You can also get other companion files (like airspace definitions) or versions you can view in Google Earth by selecting check boxes on line 4.
