If it is as "simple" as claimed, why is the circuit board (seen in the photos in the article) so complicated? Also, this has been in development for some years, so clearly there are some significant obstacles (see he https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc%E...hargeable %29 ). If they've solved them, cool!
