I can assure you there are

Such as OV-10, S-2A, S-2T, UH-1 (or Bell civilian model), P-2V, possibly
DC-4 or 6 also, Skycrane helicopters, etc

Are there any C-130 types dropping these days or are they grounded
for structural reasons?

I believe the C-130s are still grounded.

We here in Central Coastal California have had the treat of watching the
S-2As and UH-1s dropping water & retardant on a "controlled burn" at
Fort Ord that failed to stay under control (as has happened each of the
past 3 years - why do they do these burns in October??).
