Default WinPilot Themal marker

I am using WinPilot Advanced and wondered if it is possible to mark a thermal
waypoint on the fly. Reason I ask is that in a recent contest I flew through a
good thermal a few miles from the next turnpoint. I made the turnpoint and

was a long way off. If I could have marked the good spot (blue thermal) before
hitting the TP I might not have ended up in a paddock.

I know about the Thermal database feature but I want something like the "Man
Overboard" feature on some Garmin type GPS units.

Peter,

Not sure in advanced if there is function that will work. Do you have
your Trace function "ON"? That will at least get you back to the
track you came into the TP on. In Pro I use the trace function with
the lift dots. I just do a pull in the lift as I go through and it
leaves a nice magenta dot to go back to. Without the function Pro
lift dots you can at least do one 360 with the trace function on or
even an S turn should be enough to mark the spot.

My Colibri has the mark event button so I can hit that as well to get
me back to a specific point in a flight.

I find the Trace with lift dots one of the features I use very often
in WinPilot Pro. I have often done what you are talking about on an
into the wind turnpoint.
