it is a little battery powered hand held computing device used for
taking notes and maintaining an appointments diary. it has some
stripped down versions of software written for it such as a
spreadsheet.
there are also gps attachments and moving map sytems available for
some of them.
you probably havent seen them because some are made in taiwan.
