I replaced the tongue on my trailer maybe 13 years ago.
=A0IIRC, the
only=
additional thing I had to do was to spray a fair amount of
penetrating
oil=
into the sleeve (using the holes where the two bolts were
located) and
app=
lying some significant torque to twist the whole thing out. =A0
Time may
ha=
ve dulled my memory a bit on the exact details, but I do recall
it being
"i=
ntuitively obvious" (i.e. no crazy, hidden stuff).
My 1985 Komet has two big U bolts that clamp down on the
outer tube
that the tongue assembly slides into. You have to loosen these
in
addition to pulling out the two big cross bolts that Erik
mentions.
