Some guy during the standard rainy afternoon hangar talk said he uses it
on his plane and it works great as a cleaner and is much cheaper than
aviation cleaner.

Some marine gel coat cleaners are very abrasive. Don't know about the
product you are talking about but I would be careful. It might clean well
at the cost of rapidly grinding away your paint. Gel coats are much thicker
than paint.
