Hod Taylor celebrated his 89th birthday August 20 with a 2 1/2 hour
flight over the beautiful Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe in a Duo Discus
out of Minden. �Many readers will remember Hod from his days at Black
Forest Soaring, where he flew a triple lennie and entertained other
pilots with his aerobatic antics. �And on this memorable birthday
SoaringNV offered him free time in their Duo Discus, with veteran
instructor Gabe Bourbeau in the back seat, and a free tow from Soar
Minden. �This was Hod's first flight in the Duo Discus, and Gabe said
he sang World War II ballads and shanty songs during most of the
