First, they're trying to figure out exactly what's affected. If it's a
simple fix, they'll probably be OK just sending out an SB and paying for
replacement parts and labour; if it's major, it could be the end of the
New
Piper, because I doubt they're liquid enough to deal with this kind of
thing, or even to stay in business long enough to sue the steel supplier.
Scary thing is that this shipment of steel may have been used by (according
the full story) "other" aircraft manufacturers.
This AD could spread to other makes.
