I am looking to collect stories from Zuni Pilots, past and presently flying
the type. What was your first flight like? Any memorable flights? Win a day at a contest? Win a contest? Complete a badge leg on a day you didn't think you had a chance to make the flight? How many hours and flights in which one? Or ones? I would particularly like to hear from some of the earlier Zuni Pilots, like Bill Hill, Kevin Wyatt, Doug and Marion Barrit, Don Aitken, Jim Nezgoda. And how many are active now? We had another Zuni Pow Wow at Moriarty earlier this year, and are looking to add to the Zuni Lore. Who knows? We just might get an article put together for SOARING! Please send any stories or tales (filled with facts and enhanced facts) to . Yep. I have Zuni 2, serial 28. About 1400 hours, state records for straight (350 miles), triangle (340 miles), and out and return (362 miles) distance, a few speed records, and even some landouts within 5 miles of home! If you know a Zuni Pilot that doesn't read this group, please put a bug in their ear about sending their stories in. Thanks! Steve Leonard ZS |
