Some species of AEW radar. The hole in the front is likely an intake for
cooling.

I commented on the same plane earlier this week when the first image
ot it was posted (see CN-21.jpg) The radar is a little more discrete
in the cn-21 image. I do not think it is an AWACS perse. By the
configuration I would strongly suggest that it is a sidelooking set.
LIkley a Chinese clone of the J-STARS system. For tracking targets on
the ground.

Still all just supposition.

It looks similar to the Ericsson EriEye seen on the Saab 340 AEW aircraft.
