I am upgrading to a new EW MicroRecorder with an SD card slot, so my 2-
year-old unit (without an SD-card) is up for sale. The MicroRecorder is a handy self-contained GPS logger that's about the size of a deck of cards. Its legal for use with all badges and records and contains a battery that's good for 9 - 20+ hours of continuous logging. With inexpensive cables (not included) you can power the unit from ship's power, and also output the GPS information to a PDA or other computer. To recharge the unit and/or download your IGC files, you simply plug it into any computer with a USB slot and the MicroRecorder acts like a thumb-drive. You can read all about the EW MicroRecorder's features he http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/ew.htm The unit is in perfect shape, though I have put some velco on the bottom of the unit. It _is_ due for a calibration-check this year (in order to be used for badges and records, any logger has to be calibrated within the previous 2 years of a flight, or within a month or so after the flight). Calibration cost is about $75 and there are 4 or 5 shops around the USA that can do this service. You can fly and post on the OLC without this service, of course. $500 and its yours! Thanks, --Noel |
