Hi,

I just took a bunch of photos of the new Naviter Oudie and all the included accessories. I also show photos of an optional modification to the Oudie's cradle which allows it to work well with a RAM cradle or GNeck2 gooseneck. Below are links to the updated pages. I now have Oudie units in stock that have not been sold yet. They are selling incredibly fast. It is a great product. I love the hardware and the new software features. Of course, Goddard cables will be available very soon for connecting the Oudie to a wide variety of soaring instruments. http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/pdagps.htm#Oudie http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/seeyou.htm#Naviter-Oudie http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/seeyo...e-Modification http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/flightrecorders.htm http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/flightcomputers.htm Good Soaring, Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring, Inc. |

I measured the ball on the suction cup base. It is 16mm or 5/8".

McMaster-Carr sells a variety of 5/8" plastic balls, but they come in packs of 25 or more and I didn't have much use for the extra 23-24 pieces, I looked locally. I was able to find 5/8" wood balls at Hobby-Lobby and Michaels for a couple of dollars They fit well into the socket on the back of the Oudie cradle. They are an alternative to modifying the cradle that comes with the Oudie, allowing a ball to be put on the end of whatever arm you currently use. The pieces at Hobby lobby have the ball on the end of a 5/8" cylinder making them particularly easy to mount. Painted black, no-one will know they are wood. John |

Another option is to use the RAM 9/16 ball (or any other similar

NG If you purchase the Oudie & a ram arm from Craggy Aero the cradle modification is free and a tilt swivel is include with the Ram Arm. This allows you to tilt the Oudie easily without loosening the arm. A small tilt take the glare away. http://www.craggyaero.com/oudie.htm Richard www.craggyaero.com |
