What media is refusing to show it - and why?

Fox specifically turned this ad down. No one else considered it.....
It's too bad because it is valid. Even Kerry admits it. |

The facts of the matter are that A) the Vietnam war was not going to end
until the war was ended by the US gov B) the Hanoi Hilton POWs weren't getting released until the war was over and C) Kerry's message was "End the war now!". The only conclusion that you can draw is that Kerry was working diligently to get the prisoners back home. I have yet to meet anyone who was actually in the Vietnam war who agreed with it then or agrees with it now. I was on active duty in that timeframe but never got near the action. I, like Kerry, even supported the Iraq war until I found out how I was hoodwinked by someone. Maybe Bush and Powell were hoodwinked too, but they should have been in a better position to know the truth. All that the Swifty boat vets group is doing is making the whole medal-giving process suspect and calling into question the process by which Kerry got his. That, if we are to believe the swifties, just cheapens everything anyone ever did. "JD" wrote in message news:C6e8d.410974$8_6.174253@attbi_s04... Fox specifically turned this ad down. Possibly because things don't "show" well on radio? :-) IMNSHO it's time we "got over" Viet Nam. Every Administration involved in that fiasco from JFK on "screwed the pooch" multiple times. The military services took years to recover, but that seems to have happened. Maybe it's time for everybody else to realize "it's over." Not that we should forget the lessons, but rather that we not be ruled by those lessons, only. Kerry seems to have been an effective JO. That does not either qualify nor disqualify him to be CinC. Bush seems to have been an effective Reservist. Ditto re the CinC thing. Worry a lot more about present postions than historical events. OBNAVAIR: Had a lovely time in Reno last weekend with guys from VS-27 who served '70-'73. Swapped lies (old and new). Drank too much (although I note evening are ending earlier with more left overs than in our youth). Toured Squaw Valley and Virginia City and the Lake Tahoe area (low water). Saw one of those casino extravaganzas featuring lots of topless women doing lots of athletic dancing. (Ho hum.) Lost $40 in the casino (took me almost three hours to do it). And a good time was had by all!!!!! Anybody hear anything about a RAFS/Stoof Stomp in P-cola in '05? Bill Kambic RAFS (Real Aviators Flew Stoofs) |

Not that we should forget the lessons, but rather that we not be ruled by those lessons, only. At one time John Kerry agreed with you. It seems he's changed his mind. " I am saddened by the fact that Vietnam has yet again been inserted into the campaign, and that it has been inserted in what I feel to be the worst possible way. By that I mean that yesterday, during this Presidential campaign, and even throughout recent times, Vietnam has been discussed and written about without an adequate statement of its full meaning." "We do not need to divide America over who served and how. I have personally always believed that many served in many different ways. Someone who was deeply against the war in 1969 or 1970 may well have served their country with equal passion and patriotism by opposing the war as by fighting in it. Are we now, 20 years or 30 years later, to forget the difficulties of that time, of families that were literally torn apart, of brothers who ceased to talk to brothers, of fathers who disowned their sons, of people who felt compelled to leave the country and forget their own future and turn against the will of their own aspirations?" At one time John Kerry agreed with you. It seems he's changed his mind. Indeed. The only ad from this group that I have paid attention to is the one where they have a film clip of Kerry, circa the early '70s, saying that he returned his medals. He did not. Was his assertion a lie? Was it his First Great Flip-Flop? Was he suffering from massive cerbral flatulence? To the best of my knowledge he has never addressed this issue. So his (and his supporters) attempts to claim some sort of moral high ground on the issues of truth and veracity and honorable service are highly suspect. Like I say, you must compare the two candidates today, not yesterday. But are we not all the result of our yesterdays? In Kerry I see a constant series of commitments to the very liberal wing of the Democratic Party. They have many values and views I do not share. Since he is, and always has been, part of this extremely leftist group I cannot support his bid. I remain a V2R. Bill Kambic Jeffersonian at heart. |
