But let me say this, the LSA fleet profile is evolving. There
are now dozens of new manufacturers popping up with
LSA's that resemble conventional aircraft that are
suitable for interstate travel and inclement weather.
Many of them exceed 100 mph. Very few will ever see
the needle hit 138 though, with the Arion Lightning,
Sonex, and Piper Sport being the exception on a
good day.

No, those are all niche LSA's.

Call em what you want. In the preowned market there's more
of those flying toys listed than the new upstarts, and that
leads me to conclude there must be more of those in the
air. Therefore, they are a typical or at least equal representation
of the LSA market.

A = B
B = C

Therefore...A = C

Or if you want numbers (of course you do ), go on barnstormers,
the largest source of preowned plane sales, go to the lightsport
category, and count them one by one, and sort category.
Report back and don't flip-flop on what the original debate
was.

Or ask Dan Johnson how many lightsport planes can hit the
138 mark. Maybe 5%.

Yeah, because there isn't much in the way of used new anything and now
those ultralights that have been forced to be LSA are subject to regulations
like annuals.

Think about it for a minute. There are no boundries as to
who may place ads there. They come from all across the
world by a huge segment of the aviation community. The
result is:

A microcosm of the world at large and the airplanes
they fly and sell. So that is the polar opposite of being
"out of the main stream", isn't it?
