I have not been able to locate the yahoo ac4 group nor further
information about tires. Someone told me that there is a Russian language site for Aviastroitel - does anyone know how to find it? As an alternative, I have found an 8" dia plastic hub wheel that may do the job. It looks like a lawnmower wheel, and has a weight limit of 55 lb. I am thinking that some bearing sets from roller blades can be inserted in the hub (some machining needed). The weight would be about the same as the original wheel (24 oz.). Does anyone have advice about this? |

I think that is unlikely to give satisfactory service, even with revised bearings. Thanks, Bob K. http://www.hpaircraft.com/hp-24 |

Mark I found it on the internet, don't recall exactly where, but I have a vague recollection of doing a standard to metric conversion along the line in the process. I think the tire turned out to be a tight fit on the hub but just required some persistence. The tubes delivered with, (tires come in pairs), were unusable because of the stems. A local tire store was able to set me up with 90 deg bent stems on appropriate tubes. Mark |
