I've been looking for a shop to certify and if necessary overhaul a
Ball 400 series vario, and in doing so I found there are others looking for the same. Since I saw some people concerned they have no manual for this older vario, I thought I would make available the manual included in the logs for my Aer Pegaso M100S. http://www.bd5.com/BallVario400SeriesManual.pdf If you need it, help yourself. Enjoy. ![]() Juan |

It is either pressure xducer (700 series) or the trash can aerodyne |

Richard Ball finally hung up his tool kit a few years ago after decades of
taking care of these old variometers for owners.in their day they were good instruments but their days have long passed and few of these will be found without internal leaks or discrepancies anymore. I still have some data on these but didn't even bother to post it on my "useful Information" page since they are just not going to be repairable anymore without Richards knowledge of their internal workings.and most parts for these have also gone the way of the dinosaurs as well.....in this case it is time to move on and get something newer..... tim Please visit the Wings & Wheels website at www.wingsandwheels.com "Juan" wrote in message ... I'm well aware of the limitations of repairs on older avionics; I was
an avionics tech in the Marines in the late 1970's. I would at least like to be able to test it to see if it works. If it does there's no need to replace it until it doesn't. If it doesn't, then once the bird is close to airworthiness it will be time to look for a replacement. After all, it's installed on another dinosaur, an 1965 glider, that one is has plenty of life left to it.
