Looking for a used pair of waterbags.

I just pulled the old bags out of my standard cirrus, with no surprise
that they leak. Fortunately the valves, connections and rigging are
in great shape.

Does anyone have a similar size used bag that I might buy? Similar
size bags would come from an LS-1, Libelle, ASW-15, etc.

Also interested in larger sizes that I may convert into what I need.
Even if you have just one bag, I'd be interested to know about it.

That was stock in the early Std Cirri. I think mine had 10 gallons
per side, was serial number 17 a 1970 model.

#57 still has bags. They have not worked for years...

Mine had originally been setup for water tanks. It was converted
years ago to have water bags. It is an earlier model Cirrus.

The old bags do look like they held about 10 gallons each. That's
around 160 lbs total water weight. Not alot, but when you consider
some adult weigh 160 lbs, that then seems to be like alot of weight.
I can tell the difference flying a two seat either solo or with
another 160 lb adult in it.

If anyone has an old bag of some sort that might be converted.... send

Too bad; you just missed out Roger Fowler's (FR) bags a few months
ago. He sold
his Cirrus to someone on the other coast earlier this year. He had
the
Smiley bags in his plane but his was so light that the ballast didn't
do
much good for him (he thinks it was the lightest Cirrus built,
and Roger is not that big either).

I've got Smiley bags for my 19 but I'm not willing to part with them.
You could try what Roger did (and what I need to do at some point):
get the stuff used to fix leaks in rubber rafts. You will need to
gently
inflate your bags and put some of the stuff in them. Then, gently
roll
them around in the grass to distribute the stuff. Keep them inflated
for
a while until the stuff cures. Roger said this worked well for him.
