Hi,
My cobra trailer fiber glass top lost its original glow and smoothness. Two years ago I applied a clear coat, poli glo restorer, but the coat is now mostly gone. Has any one got a good way of restoring the fiber glass top? Paining with white paint? Painting with just a clear coat? Buffing? Any info will be appreciated. Cheers, GK |

Cheers, GK You can buff it out if it hasn't gone too far, or wet-sand it with 600, then buff. Otherwise sand with 220 and re-paint with AU + 20% flatner added so all the little imperfections don't show and give a "satin" look. JJ |

Cheers, GK I had the same challenge with mine after I got sick for the better part of a year, and the Florida combination of sun, pine pollen and humidity caused the mold to put down roots into the glass. I got a lot of conflicting advice on paint, but was talked into buying one of the fancy orbital buffers on Tim's Wings & Wheels site. That with a buffing compound recommended and supplied by a friend, Aqua Cut 1000 followed by Aqua Cut 2000, at about 2 hours total, brought it back to near new. Tim was right when he said I woldn't regret buying that buffer! |
