I asked about opinions on several different aircraft recently from 182, arrow,
etc. I made an offer on a 1969 Arrow and had a prebuy perfromed. Everything is satisfactory, so I will be piucking it up tomorrow or Saturday. 182's - Great planes, just a few in my price range with decent engine times, and all 1956,7,8 and 9's. Most basic VFR. Like i said great planes and holding value. Tigers - Good planes, very limited offering of Tiger's for sale. Arrow - I looked at at least five Arrows before deciding on the one I am buying. With most of my time in a 172, I see the Arrow as great transition aircraft. I can work on my instrument rating and have some speed to go somewhere. Maintenance is not a nightmare issue and overhaul costs on the IO-360 are not over expensive. In three to four years, I can step up to another aircraft - Bonanza - Cherokee 6 - Cessna 206, etc. Thaks for all of the comments. Larry |
