Soaring Center in Las Vegas is looking for more new tow pilots, ride
pilots and some flight instructors for the 2012 season. Private power pilots with minimum glider experience may now legally tow gliders for hire. Build hours and experience, travel expenses and reduced rental, instruction and tow rates for volunteers. 14 year old business. 8,600 rides, over 250 new license and solo glider ratings and a dozen new flight instructors. See: www.soaringcenter.net and contact: Thank you. Karen |

Here we used to be able to get an aerotow rating as PPLs. as we couldn't fly for hire or reward .. It was a good way to get your hours up for next door to nothing.. |

That's kind of cool, actually. It also increases to three the number of circumstances that I know of where a PP can be compensated for flying. I'm half tempted to try my hand at tow-piloting myself, just for the experience. Just don't have the time, though. When you get the required number of hours (and ratings) up you can always approach your local skydiving club ... |

I toyed with doing that a few years ago, when I learned that the local club needed pilots and also had a couple of King Airs. What an awesome way to build twin time. I would have had to get a multi rating first though, and I just didn't have the time. A good site is http://www.diverdriver.com/Aircraft/aircraft.htm Our jump plane at Wellington Waiarapa was a C172... I can recommend the PAC 750XL as they build it about 15 kilometers away ![]() |
