Laurent,
I'm based at Wings, LOM, just outside Philly. I waited almost a year to get a hanger. It's not much of a hanger. Just a long building with no doors and no walls between aircraft. I don't have to move any planes to get my plane out and it keeps the sun and the rain off. For me, keeping the sun off the fabric is very important. I'm thrilled to have it. I have to say that the people that work there have been great to deal with, line guys, FBO owner, mechanics. The FBO is first class. There's always free coffee and other goodies. There are two computers with high speed internet access and a wifi setup for you to use your own laptop if you want. Right now they have a fuel promotion called wacky wednesdays - 50 cents off a gallon for avgas. They just sent me a coupon for additional savings on fuel for anyday but wednesday. They're really making a huge effort to promote the airport, FBO and flight school. There are several other small airports in the Philly area. I expect that finding a hanger won't be easy but you never know. A friend moved to Wings about 6 months before me and got a hanger right away. Dave 68 7ECA Laurent wrote: Hello, After reading the forum for the last two years and missing the Oshkosh reunion twice due to late arrival, my turn to ask a question and help. We are moving to Philadelphia in few weeks and the plane will do too, so what is a friendly GA airport with hangar space I know I am asking for a lot. Hope to meet some of you around that part of the continent soon. Laurent |

Just wondering...
How much is the shed rental? I moved to Wings 2 years ago and was told that a T-hanger rental would cost two children and a leg. Mike "dave" wrote in message ... Dave 68 7ECA Dave, Forgive me for "thread jumping" but since you're in the Philly area: Back in the mid '80's I tried to get started in flying and took a couple of lessons at an airport that I seem to recall went by the name of "Shannon" or something like it. Of course life, etc got in the way and the flight training got back burnered until Feb of this year. IIRC, it was to the south and west of Philly out beyond West Chester. Does this ring a bell at all? It was so long ago, that I have lost that early beginners logbook and I can't even come up with an airport identifier, sorry. Thanks Jay Beckman Student Pilot - KCHD 48.0 Hrs ... Nowhere to go but up! |

Here's some info on it: http://members.tripod.com/airfields_...SE.htm#shannon To the original poster - you could also check out Brandywine (N99). They've built several hangars over the past few years. I have no idea as to the the cost/availability, though. -Frank |

thanks Frank, I wouldn't have known that. I know that two of the
airports I used when getting my private is gone - Turner and Buehl. Very sad. Jay Beckman wrote: "Frank Racis" wrote in message news:IYO1d.5765$lX.1642@trnddc04... Nike,
I'm not sure, I haven't gotten a bill yet. I believe the rates vary depending on the quality of the hanger. I guess it's going to be between 2 and 300. Are you still based at wings?
