inexpensive pin crimper

I bought a Danials on ebay for $150 and this place

I've got one that I use "free hand", that is without the funky
stand-off head that makes sure the crimp ends up in exactly the right
place.

The one in the picture is pretty much identical to mine, you can
adjust how tight the thing "crimps".

I purchased a DMC crimp set last night. Actually, I think it was the one
a link was provided. I also managed to find a good Molex pin crimper.

Find out who the local distributor for the parts are.
Call them and ask if they have a hand crimper at their office or if one
of their sales people have one. Explain your situation and ask if you
can borrow or a salesperson can "demonstrate" for you.
