I cannot believe those people are this upset and willing to literally kill this guy over a stupid ****ing BASEBALL GAME. What a bunch of morons. |

cannot believe those people are this upset and willing to literally kill this guy over a stupid ****ing BASEBALL GAME. What a bunch of morons. I worked for (and with) the Chicago Tribune from '88 to '94. I can believe this, and more. Remember, Chicagoans are people that allow an elected official to destroy public property -- and DON'T recall him. Chicagoans rant and rave about horrendous traffic, while continuing to support and allow toll-ways. (Imagine -- they stop 16 lanes of traffic to collect forty cents -- and wonder why they have traffic jams!) Chicagoans routinely sit in their cars for 90 minutes, in order to commute 20 miles. Chicagoans are not the "best and brightest". The smart ones leave. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

If I remember correctly, many years ago a Colombian goalie was killed
when he missed stopping a goal and they lost in the World Cup. Go Red Soxs! (That ought to start a OT thread) Ross |

An own goal means that by accident, a defender puts the ball in his own goal. It can be a deflection from a shot or a shanked clearance kick or whatever. It doesn't matter how the ball gets in the goal, it still counts. Supposedly the man's assailant said to him "thanks for the own goal," and shot him. Corky Scott |
